Country Fried Rock: Steve Earle Interview

Steve Earle recently came out with a new blues record called Terraplane. He has his roots in blues but moved away from the sound early in his career. That is not to say that he never touched on the blues at all. His buddy Chris Masterson toured with him and would play some bluesy stuff for sound checks. This helped reignite the flame of blues in Steve Earle and was what drove him to make this record.  NewWestRecords- Steve Earle Baby Baby Baby (Baby)
I can't say with certainty that I have heard any of Steve Earle's music, but after hearing this podcast, I think I'll check him out. The interview made it seem like he's a pretty big pop music artist and is a part of that scene, but he mentioned some artists like Lightning Hopkins and Howlin' Wolf who are old school blues artists. But anyways, Steve Earle and his new record Terraplane, keeping the blues alive.

  1. Peter, I have never really listened to the blues style of music before. I found his music upbeat and unique! I think he should keep making this kind of music. I totally agree his style is keeping the blues alive.
