We owe her our lives.
She grew as one, a perfect distance from the sun. In this day with the hustle and bustle of society, we are quick to forget that we belong to something greater than the human race. The Earth gave us everything we needed to grow. She raised us from apes but like a child leaving home, humans set out and became independent. Starting with simple agriculture, we moved from a nomadic life, dependent of her gifts, to a self sustained people. This ability to grow food allowed for populations to grow, and people to specialize on different things like art, tool making, and astronomical studies. Land became of value as land could now be used for growing food. More land = more value and soon after agriculture began, social classes developed. Ever since we have been improving and growing. More and more humans and so more and more land is possessed. This song takes me back to a closer time, and so let us sleep outside tonight.
